Working on your college campus probably won’t make you rich, but what if it offered something potentially even more valuable in the long term? Western Carolina University actually offers that – through a program designed to make student employment a more impactful experience
The Fisk Jubilee Singers will be performing at the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.
More than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students are currently enrolled in WCU online degree programs. The university has been consistently ranked among the highest in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, now in the ninth year of collecting data from distance education providers.
The session is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the university’s site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.
Oralene Anderson Graves Simmons is the keynote speaker for Western Carolina University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Simmons will give her presentation Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. in the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center. The theme is “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy of Connection: The Story of U.S.”
“Al Norte al Norte” chronicles the daily life of Latinos living in North Carolina and opens on display Monday, Jan. 13, at the museum.
A 15-member committee looks to select no more than six candidates for off-campus interviews in mid-February before selecting one or two finalists to bring to campus later that month.
Participating officers raised $280 and Mike Byers, WCU’s vice chancellor of administration and finance, matched that amount for a total of $560.
