Western Carolina University finance students outperformed both the Dow Jones industrial average and Standard and Poor’s 500 average, as well as 24 other college teams, to take first place in an investment competition sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority.

STATE OFFICIALS GATHER FOR CEREMONIAL GROUNDBREAKING ON APODACA SCIENCE BUILDING

More than a dozen current and former members of the General Assembly and other state officials were among the 200-plus who gathered in March for a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark the start of construction on Western Carolina University’s Apodaca Science Building.

PRIDE OF THE MOUNTAINS WILL MARCH IN 2019 MACY’S PARADE

The 500-plus members of the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band will be getting back in the New York groove in November 2019 as the band makes a triumphant return to one of the nation’s most beloved holiday traditions – the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
